Singing Lessons

Kate has a private teaching practice in Sandford, North Somerset and is the visiting singing teacher at Fairlands Middle School in Cheddar. She offers enjoyable, tailor-made lessons for all ages from 7 years upwards, in classical singing, musical theatre, folk and jazz. Through regular one-to-one lessons students are encouraged to develop a sound technique, explore a range of interesting repertoire and hone their performing skills.

A passionate believer in continuous development, she is currently a part-time student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, on the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in the Performance Arts. She also continues her own singing studies with the renowned international soprano, Isobel Buchanan.

If you’re thinking about taking up or returning to singing, here are a few reasons why you should give it a go:

  • Singing is a natural skill that most of us can remember doing from a young age, yet we can all learn to do it better.
  • It has proven benefits for both body and mind, improving posture and physical fitness as well as mental agility, creativity, self esteem and confidence.
  • Joining a singing group or choir opens up a wealth of new challenges and experiences. It can also do wonders for your social life!
